"Incidentally, the drainage system seems to have handled the constant rain very well. The pool on the west side of the yard never got more than about one third full, which is good, because we did not really have great volume -- just sustained rain. The east-side pool remained dry. The paths and the grass drained very well. It has been possible to take the compost out without coming back covered in mud and the kids have been able to play in the yard between bouts of rain -- in fact, they play in it now far more than they ever did when it was an open space, so that's also been a plus."
